Are the Lions sour losers and wind up artists.?
I have watched the latest matches and am quite surprised as to how many Lions off the ball incidents occured which the British media turned a blind eye to for example O’Driscoll’s armless tackle or was it a headbutt?.Also the videos of previous tours especially ’97 the emphassis on winning was through agression and not skill but the Boks get labelled Bullies, albeit Sheridan boxes a Boks crown jewels but no citing whatsoever,what do you think?

The Sheridan and O’driscal incidents were shocking and plainly, as we saw in the Super 14, the citing commision only looks at South African players!!!
Lions should get over it! Not one word of credit has been given to the Springboks for the claw-back into the game to win it! But after the 1st test all we heard about was how the Lions managed to claw their way back into the game to NEARLY win it!
Its very sad how when they interviewed Geech after the 2nd match and all he could say was how dissapointed he was and how they should have won it etc buuuuuut not one word of modest "congrats to the Boks" was shown! its disrespectful! Jeremy Gascott went on about how the South Africans must "respect the Lions" but how can we "respect" them when they won’t even admit that we had the BMT to win the game!!!

No, if anything your the one who seems to have an attitude with the games. O’Driscolls armless tackle could obviously be seen as an accident, from a fans perspective, or a match official. You could see he was trying to get his arms around Brussow but Brussow got an early pass.
So what about this so called ‘pre-match aggresion’. Its all about a lions series, espially a South African one which are always physical and up-front and personally i think it makes a great build up to the games. Its only friendly rivalry, after the last test the teams always go to the Players Bar and drink to the series together.
Your making a too big a deal out of nothing. All that happened is common in many South Africa vs Lions tests. Theres always going to be a few players who let the occasion get to them and do something foolish for example, What about Burgers eye gouging? Those players are on either side and its a shame when people decide to bring a whole team and there fan base down because of the actions of one person on one day.
Its ironic the name of this question, as it seems your trying to pin blame and annoy Lions fans.

Yes, they are sour losers. I think we got a bit spoiled playing amongst great sport nations such as Australia and New Zealand for such long periods. The Australasians are just in another class; on and off the field.
Hmm, I think the Lions lack that manly edge required in Rugby because deep down they prefer soccer. But that’s not their fault, it never is…

All they are trying to do is cover up for some stupid play on their part. The hope is people will take notice of their whinging and blame the Saffas instead of some pre school defence that let in the first two tries for the Boks.
Edit: N Jay, Botha has been suspended in Tri Nations in the past for biting. Other Boks have also been suspended fir biting and gouging.

I think the Lions are just angry with themselves. Combing 4 nations and still can’t show result after ’97? Come on. What did they think the saffas are going to invite them to trash them before there own home crowed? The tri-nations are being played year in year out and you never hear of these "brutal fiscal incidents". We’d rather complement the other team for"hard fiscal rugby". I say bring on the Tri-Nations so we can play some rugby.(Imagine we have to send a southern hemisphere team to play England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland)

1, it has to be said that the standard of refereeing on this tour has been dreadful.
2, Burger should have been red carded in the first few minutes of the game
3, Nobody is stupid to headbutt another player at full speed thats just insanity it was a no arm tackle and it deserved a yellow as did bothas no arm tackle on adam jones
4, at least one of the many high/late tackle from the SA players should gave gotten a yellow card

if it was the Lions who were cheating and not the Boks as you have claimed, then how come it’s South African players who are being banned for foul play and not Lions players? I think it’s odd how you could see foul play from the Lions but the IRB and the Boks coaching staff couldn’t.

There were foul play incidents going both ways, it’s rugby – these things happen. Burger fully deserved his 8 week ban, I don’t thing there was anything wrong with what Botha did though, he cleared out ruck and Jones got hurt, he was unlucky.
As for Sheridan not being cited, that was just lucky for him.
It’s no use making a fuss the game is over and done, the series have been won and my honest opinion is that the Schalk Burger’s ban is a blessing rather than a curse as this means Brussow will more than likely be the go to guy in the Tri Nations.
As for the losing side blowing things out of proportion and failing to see their own inabilities – what else is new??
