Another great pod George.

Obviously the guys in Newstalk are working you too hard – the first one looked to be in a sauna, back to porridge this time!
Anyway, on rugby, I think we’re realising now what a loss Flannery was. Agree on Mears being Test hooker right now, but he is almost in by default since Rees isn’t even the best hooker in Wales by my reckoning, and its all maybe a bit early for Ford.
Had to eat my words on Croft, he was very good.
Roll on Saturday now, get up early, get in and out of town and settled for the match (and election results)! Very excited to get to see Luke (at last).

Look after yourself.

Conor

Hi George. I have a question for you.

If you saw the Super 14 Final, you would have seen the Bulls produce one of the greatest displays ever seen on a rugby pitch, overwhelming the Chiefs at Loftus Versfeld. They seem to have everything at their disposal.

Is this a sign to come of how well the Springboks will play vs the Lions or does this great provincial form make a real difference on the international stage?

To be honest, if SA play as well as the Bulls, I think the Lions are in big trouble.

Keep up the good work.

Alan

vey interesting piece, the back do look to be shaping up nicely for the test, taugh bowe had a fantastic game and played himself into the test team. to think a lot of people consider o’driscoll to be finished as a player in last summer’s tour to new zeland and oz. where he couldn’t make a pass or finish a breakaway try.

to the forwards murray has to start at tight head he’s the best tight head out there. 2nd row could be a hard one to call but aw jones looks a good bet to be o’connells partner. in th back row do u think wallace could play at 6 or will he just be considered at 7. He’s not as tall as croft but has been used by both munster and ireland in the lineouts during his career.

George, another great vid. I don’t know what kinda numbers you are getting viewing this, but I really hope you consider keeping this kinda thing up next season on perhaps a weekly basis. As i said, it the sustained nature of this that is great you get to interlink and “weave a narrative” if that’s not too OTT an expression. It’s very enjoyable.

Must say I think Shane Williams is playing himself out of the side – it would be natural to include him with Bowe, Byrne. But he has been poor this season, apart from glimpses in Wales/Scotland, and hasn’t put down much of a marker in these two games. Interesting too because that opens up for a battle between Monye/Fitzgerald (who would be particularly good hitting the line off his wing as has been the lions wont so far). But also, Leigh Halfpenny who’s had a good season – thoughts on his chances?

You haven’t mentioned Ronan O’Gara for a while – do you think he has slipped down the pecking order due to his defensive frailties?

Apologies To Everyone! Especially To George And Brent.

We had 102 people who tried to post comments yesterday and a technical error prevented comment posting. After a phone call from an old rugby pal, Stevie, in Gorey, Co.Wexford who was eager to add his few cents worth, I found the problem and corrected it.

SO THE COMMENTS FORUM IS AGAIN OPEN FOR BUSINESS.

SORRY AGAIN,
Alan
